Holgate Brewhouse

Great small town pub atmosphere and some absolutely ripper beers to match.

The food would be good if the chef wasn't so over zealous with peppercorns! Come on, I know you want me to drink more, but my sausages were inedible - Spiced with pepper then served with a peppered sauce on peppercorn mash! Everything had peppercorns throughout. Staff was friendly - thankfully.

This is my favourite pub in Victoria. FANTASTIC beer and great pub grub. If I had one gripe it would be the time wasters at the bar trying the tasting shots of beer and tying up the bar staffs time. I always stop by when travelling through on trips. Family friendly too, I have two babies. Can't wait for next visit.

The highlight of Holgate's is, not surprisingly, the beers. That said, they also do a great meal and the accommodation is very comfortable. The whole atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and focussed on serving their fine beers. If you get a chance, they do tours of the microbrewery which is on site - well worth a look.

Holgates is a must visit. This is a brewery that knows its beer and matches it with good food. Their is no fuss here its just a nice laid back venue. Very good food where they do every thing well. Keep up the good work and have a chat to the staff they know their beer. Been here many times and will go many more perfect place to visit on a weekend.
