I have been twice to your restaurant and had a good experience. Now I want to book 50 people for dinner which you can easily accommodate yet you put a minimum spend of $70pp. In an economic climate such as ours that is just pure greed. Having 50 people is going to bring good money to your restaurant, together with people wanting to return hopefully with good food like i have in the past. In the future though, there will be no more. Shame you can look past glutteny and greed to see the bigger picture. Very disappointed

The food at Il Gambero is great, but it is the service that really sets it apart. Staff are always cheerful and helpful. My sister has Celiac disease, which often causes extra work for waiters and cooks. Not only was our waiter happy to help, but they understood the disease and made an alternative dish recommendation to ensure the food was completely gluten free. It is the Italian restaurant of choice on Lygon St.

Good italian food but nothing spectacular. a good place to have an event or celebration, though, as the service is friendly and the atmosphere is likeable.

I went here with 4 people, we ordered a pizza, fried calamari and 2 pastas(1 was seafood, the other a lamb ragu). The food was fantastic. Very fresh seafood. The pizza needed more cheese in my opinion, but was still very tasty. The service was not bad, they were fast but not rude. It was pretty full on a Wednesday, so it must be pretty good.
