Kingsford Smith School

The school is great! One only thing I can complain is traffic: - Despite of drop-off-only sign in front of school, many parents still park and leave their car in this area. Between 8:40 and 9:00AM, this area is often fully occupied by such cars (no driver inside), forcing other parents to drop off their children at the school-bus stop or in middle of the road with busy traffic. I had one near-miss incident in such situation. To parents who park their car in this area, please save other children from accidents by parking your car in near-by parking areas, whenever you want to go into the school with your children. Thank you. - There really need more pedestrian/zebra crossings for children to go to KSS school. Currently there is only 2 priority crossing lines to cross Starke St and Hardwick Cres. To go to school, many children still need to cross either Fullagar Cres, Powell St or Macnaughton St. These roads connect directly to KSS school, but children have to take their own risk to cross them. Crossing Fullagar Cres seems to be the most dangerous of all due to the combination of large width of this road (at junction next to KSS school) and the near-by round-about of Starke St and Hardwick Cres. Many times, I saw children had to stand in the middle of Fullagar Cres as cars going along 2 opposite directions wouldn't give way to them. It costs almost nothing to add pedestrian crossings to these roads while significantly improving the safety and walking friendliness of the area. How we can make this happen?
