We had never been there and this weekend we drove pass and decided to take the kids to have a look. We only saw the weapon show which was pretty ordinary and lack of content. There was nothing in the Fairy & Goblin room apart from some plastic stools - maybe we missed the only storytelling time. My daughter had a big cry out of disappointment as she really wanted to see some fairies. I think there should be more activities to keep the children amused. Seen it once, seen it all. Will not go back again.

Great room views, big spa bath and a delicious breakfast basket. Simple, but good. Decent theme park as well.

A fun place t visit, although i think it needs a little more in the way of things to do... some rides would be nice & flesh out the themed bits already there. Sensational food tho & amazing beer available only in 2 other venues on earth!

We, along with our 7 yo son, enjoyed our few hours here today. The 'multimedia' labyrinth at the beginning was good, and we really enjoyed the weapons show and the jousting. Without these live aspects, the experiences offered would be lacking. The Village was nice to wander around and you could see other shows, aimed at different age groups. Thanks to the website, we didn't venture in to the torture display (was aimed at over 12s) and so avoided traumatising the 7 yo. The maze is still there too, and there were other displays and people to talk to as well. We saw a birthday party group in full swing and the kids looked like they were having fun too. I think we would have been hard pressed to spend more of the day there, so would recommend this as a do-able family day trip.

I am not quite sure what has been achieved by the "new" Kryal Castle- it is still very amaturish and lacking in depth and colour. Although my children (aged 3 & 6 yo) had a good time, children older may think it "lame". My little ones particularly enjoyed the puppet show. But there were not enough staff in character/costume- I was hoping to see queens/kings/princesses etc.... I think we were just expecting "more" but it was like it was half done. We stayed the night- only to be told there was no food available at the castle after 5pm which meant I had to drive into Ballarat to pick up something. I asked reception staff about getting something delivered as we (as well as all the other guests im sure) had to find something for dinner. I was told there were NO services that delievered to the castle. I found a pizza hut who informed me that they do! With two little children who were exhausted, the last thing we wanted to do was run around trying to find dinner. The acoomodation was clean and lovely, however unfortunately the walls were so thin I could hear EVERYTHING the next room was saying & even follow what was on thier TV. Very hard getting to sleep with the noise.
