Went down and got my hair touched up at the local hairdresser in Koo Wee Rup, (Australia) today- brilliant experience! Its nice to have met someone who is so environmentally and socially conscious. I love the fact that for the first time ever my head hasn't felt like it was on fire as she uses non-ammonium based toners- joys sometimes of being blonde. Hairdresser/owner is mad on David Bowie and is renaming the salon to pay homage to her icon in the next few weeks. Which is Awesome! Other cool facts: - the whole session today was listening to bowie, spektor and other classics (Beatles, etc), none of that horrific techno guff. - she spent months fund-raising to help orphaned HIV kids in Cambodia and did a two week bike trek throughout Cambodia earlier this year. But MOST IMPORTANTLY - she is environmentally sensitive and uses recycled aluminum for foils, toners without ammonium in them and local/Australian made hair products. Not only was the style that she did for me AMAZING, but the whole experience was fun. Top marks :)
