This tapas-inspired cafe is situated on a busy corner just outside of Newcastle, where one can watch the locals. I enjoyed the mezze plate with a variety of ingredients - thai chicken balls, bbq prawn skewers, roast capsicum, pistachio dip, beetroot tapenade, chargrilled vegetables, mixed olives, & chorizo served w toasted turkish. The service was attentive and friendly.

Service was just plain bad. We received the wrong meal and instead of an apology received a defensive and greater-than-thou spiel from the staff. Don't waste your time.

I am a frequent visitor to lotus and have not yet been disappointed! Breakfasts are generous serves, and there are a wide selection of menu options, for breakfast I recommend the pancakes with maple syrup and fresh berries. Lunch wise my favourite was the turkish chicken BLT. For dinner, I cannot recommend highly enough, the Pork Belly. It is literally to die for! Service wise, the staff are very friendly and attentive and always look as though they are enjoying themselves, which makes you feel generally welcomed. Coffee wise, they are fantastic, rich, hot coffee, made properly and to a very high standard! Highly recommend!
