I like the warm chef salad with Persian fetta, the staff are friendly. It has a wonderful view of the quiet, malabar beach. Great for kids/families. Prices are average, salad would be about 16 dollars.

Im using the "Poor to Fair" category solely because there is nothing lower...much lower. But some may choose to eat here.Sado masochists for example. If you are looking for constant contact with waiters who take multiple order attempts to correctly understand and deliver such complex orders as french toast, this is the place for you. And be sure to comment the second time the waiter returns with eggs au naturel instead of the toast you unreasonably expected. This is likely to elicit a stream of profanities (I assume) in language I don't understand which in turn prompt support from the management a la "you can wait another 20 minutes for your food just for that." An unapologetic owner will then appear berating you for being so ungrateful then without warning switching on his disarming smile and offering you to become his partner in the business. Its not on the menu and IT SHOULD NOT BE ON YOURS!! The "deal" he put-on the table will make the extremely ordinary fare this eatery serves look decidedly gourmet. The deal is garnished with promises and rhetoric were it should correctly be served with accounting history and cash-flow guarantees. Trust me. Im not costing you a cent. If you trust him, it may be the most expensive and difficult to digest meal that has ever consumed you.Bon a petit .

We had breakfast here Sunday morning with our 2 small children. The waiter put so much pepper on the eggs they were inedible. When i complained i was told i must be joking and if i had a problem i could wait a further 20mins. He then preceded to tell his colleagues how ridiculous my complaint was in front of the whole clientele. I was then charged $40 for a breakfast we could not eat. If you like rude incompetent staff breakfast garnished with insults and sprinkle of ridicule with your morning coffee, this would be the place to go.

I ate here this morning with three friends after a round of golf. I decided to go for some Turkish bread with avocado and tomato. This wasn't on the menu but as it is a straight forward meal I thought it would be easy to pull together. When my meal arrived I was served two halves of a tomato that were grilled, three small slices of avocado and four slices of Turkish bread. The girl who served us was friendly and the service was fairly prompt for a small cafe. When we asked for the bill I was stunned to see that they charged me $3.50 for the tomatoes, $3.50 for the avocado and $6.50 for the bread! That's $13.50 for meagre serving of tomato & avocado on turkish bread. Oh yeah $3.50 for a little pot of tea also. I asked the girl who served us could she come back with a more reasonable price for the meal so she went off and asked the manager at the time. The manager came out to us and told us that she couldn't change the price as this is what her boss has told to charge for such combinations. We asked her was it reasonable to charge this for considering that bacon and eggs was $10. As much as I wanted to walk out of the place without paying their ridiculous prices I didn't want to stoop to their level of robbery. All in all I would highly recommend avoiding this place and try some of the other local eateries.

Poor service by a staff who do not understand the meaning of service with a smile. Menu is prepared by an inflexible cook who thinks hes working in a 5 star kitchen, without the same application to quality of food. Dont bother ringing ahead for any orders either, its strictly cash up front or no service which does not bode well for a local thats looking for places to eat in what is supposed to be the era of convenience. So much for getting that small town friendly feel. These people need to take a lesson on how to run a friendly community oriented business, from the last cafe owners...who from my recollection when told they would not be there next wknd (as I ate there every Sat and Sun mornings and days that I wasnt working during the week), that the actual owner of the building was not renewing the cafe owners lease. I drove past this cafe last Sat morning on my way to pick up my food at my new haunt, and the place was noticably bare at a time when cafes should be humming. I wonder why. I waved and smiled at the vacant looking waitress who had told me the last Sat I had vowed never to go back, they dont DO takeaway cos were far too busy. I will miss the mango/passionfruit frappes tho. I wonder if I can get the Lite hearted cafe to start making them. Hmmmm
