Mallard Duck Cafe

I ordered the calamari, a dish I use to test a restaurant - for $25 I was disappointed. It was the worst rubber-band experience I've had in a long time and it came covered with greasy aioli, which usually comes on the side in most places. I suspect they were from a frozen packet. It was a good sized serve with good flavour on a bed of mixed leaves (also straight out of the packet I believe) with some narly bits I picked out, lots of cucumber pieces, a wee shredding of capsicum and 2 wedges of tomato and another 2 wedges of lemon, almost enough lemon to cut through the greasy aioli. I get a better version of this dish at a Guildford cafe for $14 and the local fish and chip takeaway also offers a nicer calamari and salad. To drink I ordered a lemon lime and bitters, which came out of a pre-mix bottle and they charged $4.50 for it. They could see I was not happy with my meal so they didn't come to ask if everything was OK. Over all I was not inspired to return despite the fast service and pretty grounds.

Excellent service and food. If you sit on the balcany outside you can enjoy the view of the wildlife around the lake with alpaccas, ducks and geese.

Foods are great.. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.. Even to those with young kids.. Owner it's very friendly and does look after customer very well
