Mario at the Dining Room

A rare gem.

The place was pretentious, noisy and low value for money. My main course (veal parmigana) was average but overpriced. I ordered a beer when we sat down and waited nearly 10 minutes for it to arrive - I thought they had forgotten my order! Our wine was opened to allow it to breathe and the cap unceremoniously dumped on the table. The table waiters could have been better trained to not lean over the entire table to deliver food and water. The waiter only occasionally topped up our water glasses so we asked for a jug to be left on the table; he petulantly brought 2 jugs and grudgingly dumped them on the table. When the waiter delivered my cheese plate he spilt crackers across the table and made no effort to put them back on the plate. The room was very noisy with lots of hard surfaces, making it difficult to hold a normal conversation. I really did expect more from this place; my first and last visit.

I took my girlfriend here for our anniversary last night and it was fantastic. As soon as you walk in, you are made to feel welcome. Mario himself greets you and stops by throughout the night to ensure that you are happy with everything. The rest of the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The food itself was amazing, from the entree through to dessert and the price is very good, especially for the high quality of food and service. Will definitely be going back.

It's an intimate little restaurant that is sophisticated without being pretentious. Food is ALWAYS fantastic - Mario always comes by your table to say hello... the staff really know how to give good service. This place really is what great restaurant dining is all about.

Amazing food! Great atmosphere. The dessert is baked daily fresh by the owners wife! Amazing. Waiter was hilarious.
