Unfortunately awesome coffee just isn't enough. The Pavilion does not serve breakfast in the bar area any more as it previously has. This is a shame as I have enjoyed many great AM feeds eating off the surfboard in the past. There was a very poor menu on offer in that area - evidenced by the fact that there was only myself and a family of 3 at the neighbouring table. Outside was reasonably busy for coffee and the restaurant was quite full indeed. It took around 5 minutes for the luke warm waitress to take my order. Of the 5 menu items the only one I cared for was an egg and bacon 'scroll' - the waitress admitted that she didn't know what that was either but she suspected it was a roll of sorts. It took around 20 minutes for my highly priced ($12) 'scroll' to arrive at my table. On examination it contained one egg and one rasher of bacon. The bacon had absolutely NO colour on it - the fat had not rendered and its appearance completely ruled out having spent any time at all in a pan of any sort. A microwave perhaps? Upon enquiring with the male delivering my food I opened the 'scroll' and asked him if he thought it looked at all cooked - he replied with a smile and a flat NO. He took it back. When my 'scroll' returned the bun was damp though there was a new piece of beautifully coloured bacon present. Though the bacon was beautiful at this point the bun was horribly doughy but after 25 minutes I was ravenous and ate it without further comment. The 3 folks on the table next to me communicated the same criticism to the male waiter though he offered no apology to them that I observed. It's super offensive that a food professional thinks so little of me that he would even serve me such rubbish food. I would also consider it more professional to make a new sandwich from scratch rather than provide a doughy mess to somebody that has already been treated with scant respect. The only smiles I got for my whole visit were from the customers next to me and the girl that collected my plate. Even the male that collected the money for the bill and returning the change couldn't muster a simple 'thank you'. I won't be back to the Pavilion in any hurry, and I suggest that others follow suit.
