The coffee here is superb and it really attracts a crowd in the mornings. Which means you may need to get in line to get a coffee. Nevertheless, the coffee is still awesome despite the line. Mecca also do breakfast although I have never had breakfast here.

I'm from out of town, and there's a large stigma with Sydney serving awful coffee. And it's simply not true, coffee served at Mecca is quite good. It really reminds of me home. The staff are also friendly. It's one of a few places in Sydney that I go out of my way to grab coffee.

Incredible coffee - I think it's my favourite in Sydney. They also do great food - it's a bit more expensive - but I suggest trying the Royale with cheese. Crossaint buns, really good pattie, great pickles - it is a next level burger. Lots of people from the ABC pop in since it is in ultimo so you can usually see your favourite presenters from Triple J and ABC News dropping in there. The baristas there really know their stuff and they do coffee courses and cupping days. Really good teas as well, very nice atmosphere, lots of long wooden tables and slightly rustic metal fixtures.

Summary: I'll be back for the coffees and atmosphere. Although I didn't enjoy the roasted vegetable salad, their other offerings appear deserving of a chance. Atmosphere: A great darkened but warm atmosphere with some industrial influence. Service: Very good. Decaf flat white: Had a tiny amount of bitterness, but not too much. Latte: This was from my friend who dosed it with 3 or 4 sugars before realising he wasn't feeling well and giving it to me without even tasting it. As far as I could tell from all the sugar it was nice and smooth with no bitterness. Roasted Vegetable Salad: The dish was sizeable and the presentation was excellent and I was expecting something really delicious. Unfortunately, for my tastes, I found it to salty, and the flavours didn't really work well together. Additionally the water crest (at least I think that's what it was) was full of long stalks, making the salad difficult to eat. They obviously put some effort into the salad which makes the dish all the more disappointing, but on the otherhand it means their other dishes are probably worthy of a try.
