Menhir Tapas & Bar

Overall the food was excellent; most of the dishes we tasted were a treat to the palette, in particular, the calamari and shrimp tapas. It was a bit disappointing that there was no fish tapas on the menu, i.e., "pescas fritas", which is a staple in any tapas restaurant in Spain. The service was reasonably good, although they need some training in wine. I had ordered a favourite Barossa Valley tempranillo - which turned out to be out of stock. The waitress instead brought out an unknown (to me) Spanish tempranillo but did not give me the option of tasting it before accepting it. The decor was the most disappointing aspect. I only rate it "good" because there is no "average" category. The tables were tiny and the chairs quite uncomfortable.

This is such a lovely place! The ambience is great, and the food is really lovely. We drove 40 mins to taste the food, it was definitely worth it, and we will be back for more. Price-wise, it is a bit more expensive than normal places on the Central Coast, but it is still great food. Yes, expect a wait for your food - but Tapas is about sharing and interaction, we used the time between dishes to relax and unwind with some lovely sangria (highly recommended!). The waitress was lovely and really made the night that extra bit special. I very much enjoyed our evening, and we will definitely go back again.

Our food was good but overpriced for tapas, Dont let this take away from Menhir I will be going back but i would go more fequently if it was more reasonably priced, Great atmosphere with live entertainment that was not over the top, Waitress had great personality and was knowledgeable, Guy behind bar was more worried about his hair than service, but back to the main point FOOD WAS GOOD.

Will not be returning to this place. the staff were actually very nice, even the two who had no idea what they were doing! they had no spanish beer, no cider and no coffee (moved machine and hadn't cleaned it yet!) and the dude managing the place was incredibly rude to us and his staff. the food was nice but too pricey for the central coast!
