Mooloolaba Backpackers, 75 Brisbane Road, Sunshine Coast - Mooloolaba

I had a private room and bathroom and there were long hairs and a dirty shower curtain with unscrubbed walls (could see patches were they tried), no bathmat and when I asked for an extra towel I was told I already had one. Poor bedding for winter and no heating. No hand soap and very very noisy. Pool filthy. Staff were unfriendly apart from awesome dude who took me to airport both ways! I felt it was overpriced and disappointing overall. Mooloolaba great though!

If you like party, it's the right place. The staff are very friendly at the reception. But... you need your own kitchen stuff. The facilities have potential for a renovation.

I've been travelling all around Australia and Malooloolaba backpackers is easily the worst hostel I've ever been to. The staff aren't service minded at all. You have to go back in to your room before 10 pm. The night manager tells you to go to the river and drink alcohol and when you get the river the police stops you and gives everyone a fine, 110 $ each. The kitchen doesn't have a owen and the pool is filled with dirt because nobody cleans it. Hate this place, if you're looking for a job go somewhere else. I realy hope you're not going to make the same mistake as me and stay here.

We came to party but every night at 9 they close the balcony and at 10 everyone have to leave due to a noice curfew. They have actually recommended going to a river near by, but the police patrols the area so we have been fined 2 times (if you're not getting a drivers liscence in QLD you might as well throw the fine away). Some of the staff are nice and some are really unservice minded and really don't want to help at all. Stuff generally work bad and the fridge is way to small for so many people. If you come to work it might be fine but it sucks with all the rules when you want to party!

Too many long terms, they all stare at you as though you are tresspassing, doesnt make for a good backpacker atmosphere. Facility was ok but fairly messy with food crumbs, ants and flys everywhere. Free surfboard, body board and bike hire was good but most were broken. 10 am curfew was lame too. Maybe skip mooloolaba. Also the staff were lazy.
