My Place Restaurant

My Place offers one of the best breakfast views in the world. Coffee consistently great. Muffins delish. Staff are always happy. I think longingly of that awesome view of Coral Sea dazzling in the morning sun when I am back home in Melbourne.

I had a fantastic linguini marinara at My Place today. The food is great and the staff are friendly. One of my favorites in Coolum.

I recently ate with my girlfriend at this so called "Italian Restaurant" and i have to say that this is the worst restaurant we have been to in a long long time. Possibly its the worst ever. First off the staff were running around the restaurant like chickens with their heads cut off even though the place was only half full. Smiles were non existent and they didnt advise us of any specials before we ordered. We had to ask for water. Food and drinks were rudely thrown down on our table by various staff. The seating arrangments were ridiculous..they attempted to cram as many people in there as possible making you sit rubbing shoulders / backs (i kid you not) with the other unfortunate customers. Just sitting there made you want to leave. The worst thing though was the pretentious club music being played at full volume by the barman, which made conversation impossible. The worst thing about "my place" though is the food. We ordered a small pizza for an entree. It was paper thin with hardly any cheese or toppings, ive tasted better microwave pizza's. The mains (a Seafood Risotto and a Chicken Fettitcini) were tastless and every piece of seafood in the risotto was burnt. It should be a crime to make Italian food this bad. The weirdest thing that happened while we were there was that a small boy (who was rocking on his chair) fell off and hit his head on the table..the staff just watched (i saw one guy just walk away) while the family tried to care for their son. It was horrible. All this crap cost us $52. Please avoid "my place". Mcdonalds is just down the road.
