Hard to get too, with no near parking, free entry and interesting art. But they have proximity alarms, but no indication of what to close is. So alarms sound at regular intervals with security running of as people try to read the small print describing the art. Pro tip: look on the ground for the proximity alarm.

There is almost too much to see. I had a bit of an art overload, but it was the second stop on our gallery hop. The sculpture garden and what I'm calling the 'sky room' were the highlights. Lots of great works, but the galley needs some fresh contemporary pieces to add some sparkle. Quite enjoyable.

Definetly worth seeing if you like art. Not really family friendly.

Although it's not the easiest place to get to, the NGA is worth the effort. The main collection houses some famous artworks that I was genuinely surprised to find out that we (Australia) own. Highlights include Picasso, Pollock, Monet, Dali, Braques, Delaunay and others. And the upcoming Turner exhibition is something to look forward to.

We have tried to find out if our booking for Boxing Day at the Old Mirrabrook was still valid. I left a phone message tith the Gallery Events person Eve around midday and then rang front desk at 4.00pm who said the new Sculpture Restaurant was not open yet and did not know when it would be. So she put me through to "Eve" again and again no one answered and I left another message. Very Poor! Considering we have tickets for the T - L exhibition in the afternoon you would think they would be a little more active!
