Nobu, 8 Whiteman Street, Southbank

We have been to Nobu now quite a few times and the food is really up there with the best of them, if you can afford it, be warned! I would recommend the chef's degustation a real treat! But make sure you advise of your budget!!! This is also my partners favorite restaurant and she just loves the cocktails and food here. In saying all off this, I took my partner there for a late birthday dinner, no booking, this was not an issue as we were advised that we could eat at the sushi bar in approximately 15 to 20mins and that we would be called from the bar. So as usual we had our cocktails and waited....... and waited...... and waited... This is the first time I have ever experienced this level of service at Nobu, no one even offered to take another drinks order from us and no one came to advise us about the table at all! The worst was watching casual dinners like ourselves coming to the bar and then been ushered away downstairs after a drink. We ended up walking out after an hour and dining else where :-( I really hope that this is a little hiccup with service as at this price point this should be reflected in the service level also.

Beautiful restaurant located within Crown Casino, South Bank. The quality of the food is exceptional, however, I got a shock when the bill came - it was expensive for what it was (casual lunch with just a few dishes). The service was pretty average - I didn't leave a tip! Recommended for the food but not the service. Expect to pay at least $100 per head depending on wines...

I have been to Nobu a few times now. The food never disappoints and remains outstanding. The service has slipped and is certainly not in line with the prices charged . There were several people struggling to read the menu in the dimly lit restaurant – an indicator that more candles are required or better lighting.... I would rate this an 'ok' date venue...If you want great food then yes, but after a whole experience then keep walking. Highly recommend the Wagu Beef – it is sensational.

I got engaged here! The food is the best i've ever had - If you aren't that keen on seafood, this place will change you! The service is amazing also :)

Great food and excellent service although a tad pricey for what you get but being Nobu we expected as much. The waitress was very thorough and helpful, recommending dishes and answering our questions. One of the highlights was the shashimi which was incredibly fresh. The swordfish and tuna were definite standouts.
