This was a disappointing experience. The wait staff are rude and impatient, particularly the older blonde one, and 5 out of 6 diners who ate with us, hated the meal and walked away hungry and dissatisfied. Oh yeah, and it was ridiculously overpriced. So so disappointing!

We had been coming to this excellently located venue for some 23 years when it was The Brewery Restaurant and it was a great favourite - the best place to eat (and drink) in Newcastle with hand-crafted brewed on the premises ales and potent ginger beers. We even booked the place out for our wedding reception. Unfortunately the present incarnation is a poor imitation of the original. No connection (apparently) with adjoining Brewery hotel and a long way to go to match the purported quality Nor' East's current price list and menu descriptions imply. Suggest the chefs pay a visit to nearby Bachhus and/or Restaurant Deux if they want inspiration as to what can be creatively done with local produce to win us back. What a shame they haven't as yet.

After walking past many times but ignoring as just another restaurant near a pub, we decided to give it a try on a Tues night after seeing it reviewed favourably in the paper. And lucky we booked - it was packed! The food was great - the service a little lacking because it was busier than they clearly expected. We liked it so much we booked it for our work Xmas lunch.
