The actual hotel is in a great location near Chinatown, and its lobby (as well as the facilities near the lobby such as the restaurant) are very good. It's rooms however, while not bad, are pretty average and seem a little dated. In my case it was a single king on the seventh floor. Wi-Fi reception is not bad, and connectivity is average, though free and fast service should be expected for a four star hotel. It's gym is average (a few standard LifeFitness treadmills etc), and would be much better if it was available for use 24 hours. It's hours are reasonable though unless you have jetlag or are returning back to your room late after business.

Wow. An overpriced Hostel where they don't vaccum at all, no breakfast, no king beds (two twin beds "zipped" together), run-down surfaces, the smelly hallways, WiFi for $30 for 24hrs, all this for what you would expect to pay at a Marriott (where all those services are quality or free) or at a Westin (where at least they pride themselves in their beds). Stay away! Novotel, where the company policy is to say NO to customers as often as possible. And if you think this is because I had one bad expereince, you are wrong. I had to stay with these people for 18 days in April 2012. I have had to stay at their Darling Harbor location last October for 23 days and 16 more days now in April 2012 because my Company made them a deal. Their point system is terrible - basically; you don't get any points unless your stay is paid for on your personal credit card (so if you are a work traveler; don't expect any perks for being a frequent guest). They don't seem to understand or value frequent travelers and seem to only want to find every way possible to bleed their customers out of more money. This Hotel is just another example of bad hospitality; where they don't seem to understand that you can pay almost $100 less and get cleaner rooms, better beds, free breakfast, free internet, free newspapers, free coffee and an award-winning point system at several other equally or higher star-rated chains. I would even prefer a hostel, as they are usually more service oriented and cleaner. Oh, and yes, the rooms are dirty, small and the bathrooms have mold. Stay at least 3" from the wall as the carpet below has the most amount of dead cells and filth.

Good hotel, FANTASTIC location, short walk to Darling Harbour, Entertainment Centre, Chinatown, close to Monorail, 10-15mins walk to Central and Town Hall stations, you would stay here just for all the food choices. Rooms satisfactory, an older hotel, but well kept, good condition. Gym is small, TV not working, Pool is indoor, but not heated, but good views. Mattresses ok, abit soft for my liking, ringing down to reception, for the first time in ever, they DONT ANSWER their phones?? What is that all about? Had to go down stairs to speak to them. All in all, good clean hotel, great location for the price, but not so good service. Stay there for the price and location. Internet in the room is $30/24hrs. Or you can use the one downstairs for free. It wasnt working at the time, so they gave me a pass to the VIP club lounge for free. Sweet!

No problems at all, staff were very friendly. Check in and check out was fast and easy. Biggest problem was the internet situation - you had to get an internet code but the computer would sign you off before the time was finished and you would lose all your windows.
