One person's steak came med rare instead of medium, my steak came medium instead of med rare (and it's not like we ordered the same steak). Not a big deal though at this point. The folks are nice, and the food is OK. I had asked the waitress if I could leave off the potatoes and bring me veggies instead, which she agreed to. When I saw the bill at the end of the dinner, they charged me and extra $7 for those veggies. If they would have made that clear from the get go, I wouldn't have ordered them, because it wouldn't have been worth it to me. When I saw the bill and spoke to the cashier about it, to see if it was a mistake, he just said there was nothing they could do; potatoes to veggies wasn't an equal switch to them. He said he could get the manager, but they would likely tell me the same thing. Another person said that they would make sure the waitress tells folks that in the future--which is fine, but doesn't do anything for me. I'm still being charged $7 for something I wouldn't have gotten if I'd been aware of it in the first place. I'm not interested in how you discipline the staff, I'm interested in whether you care about a customer's experience enough to remove a $7 charge that they wouldn't have incurred if all the information would have been available. (And what kind of place won't let you just sub out potatoes for veggies without an extra charge?) Anyway, they lost 4 customers over $7 bowl of bland vegetables.

We were greeted on the street by staff and seated. Although the attempt at good service was there, we were quite disappointed with the food for the price we paid. Entrees were good having chosen the Crocodile/Kangaroo etc tasting plate to share but for a steak house we were VERY unhappy with our mediocre steaks. One drink each, a tasting plate to share and 2 steaks cost us well over $130. We felt the steaks at The High Road Hotel were far superior

Very ordinary food and slow service would be my summation of Outback Jacks Northbridge. Three of us went there for dinner on a quiet Thursday night. It look a while to be brought menus, and even longer to select drinks. My friend who'd been there before said you can go to the back of the restaurant to select exactly which steak you'd like, but the man at the meat counter was totally disinterested and unable to provide any advice. Our order was taken, but almost every item was wrong - a medium rare steak given as medium, 1 chicken wing instead of 4, a salad with dressing rather than on the side. The food wasn't anything special either, and the supposedly "spicy" steak sauce was nothing more than a mild salsa. Whilst the prices weren't too high considering the location, I'd go elsewhere if I wanted a proper steak.
