Pandanus Cafe

Being in the best location in the Tweed, this cafe feels comfortable ignoring the idea of building a regular customer base. They have few customer service skills and act as if people are their enemy. I have witnessed unbelievable rudeness and anger and I really wonder why they are in hospitality! The owners publically admit they don't like or need the locals because tourists come in because of their location. They ignore or berat any local activity or customer. You won't find a local eating there. They have no sense of community as was witnessed by their hostile attitude to the Caba Carnivale which brought 3000 people to their doorstep - so they closed at 4.00 on a Saturday!

The manager? of the eatery needs training in customer relations urgently. This morning we sat down with the intention of ordering 2 meals (after confirming with the chef that he was in the the process of preparation for lunch customers). I placed an empty disposable coffee cup on the table. A silver haired man came out and spoke to me rudely about bringing coffee from another place there. Information can be conveyed in more pleasant, customer retaining ways. Furthermore this man declared lunch was not being served. Needless to say my friend and I left and will never go back again or bring our families (we are locals) or recommend to friends. This uptight person has lost money for the cafe, due to his stupidity, arrogance and rudeness.
