Papa Gino's

Love it here. Huge servings of delicious pasta. Pizza's have heaps of toppings and the bases are perfect. The staff are attentive but not invasive. Im from Perth and Papa Ginos is my favorite Melbourne eat.

Grabbed a taxi and headed to Lygon st. Surprisingly good, and well priced. Was really in the mood for italian.

Just shaing personal taste/experience: house special pizza - the inclusion of prawns did not impress. way it was baked did not blend well with rest of ingredients. bread served before mains was also cold & tasted stale.. better off not serving/eating it. having said that - the vongole on spaghetti is good but sauce-spaghetti ratio could be better. house white was good.

First went in the mid 1970s as a uni student and have lost count of how many times I have been back. With family, with friends. A great pizzareia in any one's language.

First off to address the review below - who goes to an Italian restaurant and orders a parma? Been to Papa G's loads of times and it always makes me laugh when people order steaks or parmas-cmon guys. Pizza and Pasta are the thing to order here. Quick service, great food, and nice service are a standard at this Lygon St Institution. Can't go wrong!
