Perfect Drop, 5 Howe Street, Daylesford

We were welcomed at the door. Although we were too early for a meal we were given courteous attention and made comfortable with a lovely wine in front of an open fire. The meal was fantastic and the atmosphere warm and calming. I highly recommend Perfect Drop for a drop-in meal, wine and just to relax between tourist attractions

Perfect Drop is possibly the best food I've ever eaten! It's been almost a month since I've been to Daylesford, but I just felt compelled to write a review after remembering the review that 'Lynsey' wrote (below)... Lynsey, maybe if you hadn't splashed all your cash on a "luxury Mercedes" then the Perfect Drop might not have seemed so expensive to you... I'm quite bewildered as to what you consider overpriced to be also... My husband and I ate at the Perfect Drop 2 nights in a row (It's that good!) and the first night we ordered 5 small dishes, 2 medium dishes and one main dish, (because it's a tapas restaurant!) accompanied by 3 ciders, which only cost us $123- I WOULD HAVE PAID 3 TIMES THAT MUCH FOR HOW GOOD IT WAS! The second night we invited friends of ours from Melbourne to come join us there for dinner because it was such incredible food... They arrived an hour and a half later, and we still talk about the awesome food at Daylesford! I cannot go on enough about how amazing this place is... Please don't take any notice of a bad review about this restaurant! It's cozy like you're sitting in someone's home for dinner, the staff are friendly and down to earth... Not stuck up waiters being snobs about what wine you're drinking. The vibe of the place is perfect... I can't WAIT to go back there! Keep up the brilliant work Perfect Drop! :)

Great place on a sunny day to enjoy a wine and have some gourmet tapas like snacks.

My boyfriend & I hired a beautiful luxury Mercedes for the weekend and had a lovely time before we set foot in this "restaurant" for our dinner. We were ushered to a very small table near a drafty door & after seeing the over the top prices for all of the food we decided to get one main to share & two starters to share as it was a share kinda place (or so the menu said). But when it came to take our order the waitress rudely kept insisting we purchase 5 or 6 dishes to share (between just my boyfriend & me!!) and we had to lie and say we'd already eaten a light snack before we came which was greeted with a deep sigh, scowl then menu grabbed off us and her loud boots boomed back across the floorboards to the kitchen leaving me with a horrible feeling for the whole evening & like i just wanted to get out of the restaurant which is exactly not what I planned for our relaxing dinner experience. In a nutshell; *Food was very disappointing. *Bossy, Rude, Noisy, Over Bearing & left with a feeling of utter guilty if you wont splash as much cash possible in the place. Daylesford has so many lovely places to dine that may or may not be expensive but personally we will not touch this place with a barge pole and want everyone to know how horribly rude they are!!

This place is excellent. A very clever chef who cooks to perfection. I was more than happy with the portion size and can absolutely recommend the chocolate mousse which is the best I have ever had in over fifty years. The wines are local and great.
