Myself and 3 friends attended the pig and whistle this evening 24th April 2012. As we entered the bistro the blonde waitress met us in the bar and queried us as to whether we had made a booking. My friend courteously answered with an apology stating no we hadn't and that we were sorry for this fact. The waitress then stated to us "hmph I will seat you this time but in future could you make a booking". Also informing us that "she was 3 staff short and run off her feet" ( only 4 of the tables were occupied in the bistro and were all eating their meals) We then apologised again and then thanked her as she told us to sit at table 40. No she didn't escort us. She just walked away. We made our way to table 40 and read the menus. I attended the bar to get drinks. The 2 coronas that I purchased weren't overly cold. My male friend didn't finish his beer!! Whilst at the bar we placed our order. As entree's we ordered a soup of the day, 2 camembert and 1 bruschetta and then ordered our mains. A t.bone steak and 3 lemon peppered calamari. The bar man then read back our order stating the entrees first then the mains to which we agreed to and then paid. We then returned to our table. On the table were four empty water glasses which would have been perfect had they been full of water!! Our entrees arrived. Unfortunately only 3 did. The soup didn't arrive. During our eating of our entrees the waitress was rude to other customers by yelling from a distance as to whether they had finished eating at the bain marie. She was excessively obnoxious to another table by telling them they had to move to the bar as she wanted to reset their table with a paper table cloth. She continued to slam chairs noisily, roughly place glasses onto tables and generally be a rude. The service from this point deteriorated rapidly and the quality of food that was produced was very sub standard. Even the chef entered the bistro area minus a hair net to cover his extra long dreadlocks. All of our plates that returned to the kitchen contained most of our meal that we had willingly paid for and expected it to be A1. This was pitiful. We will not be returning to the pig and whistle in Swan View neither will we be recommending to any of our friends or their friends!! For a drink, a meal or a smile!!! I would prefer not to rate at all, if possible it would be a half star for the barmaid who willing gave a refund for the missing entree and gave us an apology.

As we live close by to the PIG & WHISTLE BAR & BISTRO, we decided our family would go for a meal as we had previously found the service to be excellent, however tonight was a different story... As we walked in we were greated by a nice young man, he took four of us to our table as we were waiting for other family members to arrive. we ordered some drinks and our entrees, everything seemed okay. the other family members arrived and they also ordered their drinks and entrees. It took 15-20 minutes before the waitress had brought our entrees and drinks to us. We then asked for more entrees. As the waitress walked off she was shaking her head. We then ordered our mains and more drinks the waitress took the order back to the chef but unknown to us she had left things out and gotten the orders wrong, She also failed to clear our table and we had to move the many items to another table. The food took atleast 30minutes to arrive to us and we werent happy with that one of our friends went up to the bar TWICE to ask what was goin on with the orders. When the food finally arrived the salads were undressed, chicken was very dry, steak was under-cooked and the two prawn dishes were not cooked and dressed as ordered. Upon complaint DARREN-THE FOOD AND BEVERAGE MANAGER, was called, and after some delay finally came over and was even more abrupt then the waitress. He then tried to tell us we hadnt placed our orders correctly and was very rude in trying to get his point across, which made us very uncomfortable. In summary we were very very dissatisfied with our meal and service on this night. Next time our $240 bill will be spent somehwere with better quality service and food. Anyone thinking about going there i'd advice you to think about it first.

( May 2010) The management has changed at the Pig and Whistle earlyer this year. The staff are so much better and the food beats alot of other restraunts around this area. The manager came up to us and asked what the meal was like. He was very polite and had good experience about food. We have previously been and the quality was still above average!!!

Today (17th Oct 2007) my Parents and my daughter went for lunch and we were extremely dissapointed with our meal. From the begining of our lunch I noticed a half eaten spare rib under our table. Not a good start. Mum ordered the Caesar Salad and it was very oily from the bacon and the Croutons were soaking with oil. My Turkish bread was very very hard and dry . The chips were not tasty, they had a distinct fatty taste and the salad was very limp and soggy. I didn't want to embaress my folks by complaining...but perhaps I should have because I will not be going back again. I rang Management and got a very lame, "Sorry". We were the only ones there for lunch. Perhaps that should of been a good indicator of how the food tastes. Terribly unhappy, Karen.
