I was taken to the QE2 after two nights before trying to go to the PA. The PA sent me home without doing any tests for vomiting and stomach pains. The QE2 saved my life when I got there my heart was beating 200 a minute so they took care of me and now im on the road to recovery thank you so much to the QE2 ;)))))

I have to totally disagree with the two comments previously posted. I was taken to QE2 with an acute asthma attack by QAS. I live in the Redlands and this was only done because Redlands Hospital was on bypass, as was PAH where I would normally have gone otherwise. Mater Hospital was also on Bypass, as was Logan Hospital. When I arrived my asthma had subsided and was well controlled by the paramedics. QE2 went on Bypass 2 minutes after we arrived. I had developed severe abdo pain and this was now taking precedence. The triage nurse came through and checked me out. There were no cubicles available and no staff really available, but she organised on of the doctors to see me quickly where I was (Ambulance Bay), they immediately prescribed and delivered pain relief which was very much appreciated. I was told they would keep reviewing me and get me into a cubicle as soon as possible, but in the mean time I was to be cared for by the QAS Paramedic and his student. They were superb! I am a registered nurse myself and could not fault their care and attention. I was given pain relief as required and well cared for. As soon as a cubicle became available I was transferred inside to it (About 2 hours). The care given by the nursing, medical, and ancillary staff was beyond reproach and I am more than satisfied. This great care continued when I was admitted to the surgical ward. Medical and Nursing staff as well as all of the ancillary staff were wonderful. Bells were answered in a timely manner (something I can say does not happen in most hospitals in the Brisbane district). when it came time for discharge i was amazed at the smoothness of this procedure and the speed at which it occurred. By the time I had organised myself and transport my medications and discharge summary were ready for me. The whole process took less than half and hour. That is unheard of at PAH where you can wait for hours on end for discharge to complete. Even my OPD appointment had been made for me. I want to congratulate the QE2 staff - all of them - on a job well done. When in the entry/departure lobby waiting for my transport I had the opportunity to speak to others. Not one person had a disgruntled comment; all reiterated what I had to say. As i say I adamantly disagree with the other two postings made on this page. Perhaps you were not as patient as needed or something, but please remember staff in these hospitals are doing their utmost best in very trying conditions to provide a 'free' medical service to you and I that is of world class in nature. Well done QE2

Absolutely no chance I will ever go back.. the front emergency staff are rude and don't understand how to talk to distressed public and family.. they even joked about it .. sad and angry.. will always go to rbh from now on
