I have taken my Mitsubishi Outlander and Nissan Patrol to R & H Service Centre on several occasion's and I find Harris to be a genuine, honest and old fashioned type of bloke. He does my services in a timely manner and on the quoted price. It's also nice to be told all the good things about your car too as opposed to just what's wrong with it. I found Harris by sheer luck and it's not often that you find old school, good old fashioned mechanics around anymore.

BE VERY CAREFUL WITH SLEEK SALESMAN. After reading some very positive reviews of R&H Service centre i thought it sounded like a great place to get a road worthy for my 2 year old 4x4, and possibly start a great work relationship with Harris as it sounded like many others had done so already (family friends more like it). After leaving my vehicle at R&H in the morning and then heading to work, i received a phone call from Harris a couple of hours later telling me that he could not fully complete a roadworthy due to the condition of the tyres, but would complete all that was possible and i could get new tyres put on and then return and he would complete it then. As i'm no tyre specialist i took his word for it. Upon picking up the vehicle Harris said i needed to pay for the incomplete roadworthy as he had spent time on the vehicle, i agreed and paid him 80% of the total price as thats how much had been completed (he reluctantly excepted). Now after taking it to a tyre specialist and being informed that the tyres had at least 5000 Ks left in them, i ended up getting new tyres anyway. I called up Harris to schedule in an appointment to complete the roadworthy only to be told it could not be completed and i would have to have a completely new one done ( at full price) as the vehicle had left his premises. A very different story to the original one Harris was telling. So be very careful not to be his next victim.

I met Harris over 15years ago when he was in need of help for a plumbing emergency. because I was driving a similar classic landcruiser to his own we got chatting about cars. I described some of my problems and he had a quick look and pointed out the dangerous condition my vehicle was in. I was aware of most the faults and had been ignoring them due to being ripped off to many times. after much discussion and pricing it was decided I needed new suspension, shocks almost every steering part and one new brake rotor. The price was so fare I couldn't refuse but I couldn't afford to be off the road during the Xmas holidays for long because that's my busiest work period. To help me out Harris took a few days off his Xmas holiday with the kids to get my car in the workshop. He also put me up at his house and fed me for 3 days while we rebuilt the old girl. all these years later My landcruiser ute still drives like a new car and looks awesome with it's heavy duty suspension and super tight front end. Harris has serviced and kept my aging fleet of trucks and 4x4's on the road and safe for more than 15 years now and I have no regrets. I happily drive from phillip island to melbourne to get my cars worked on by R&H Service Center. There is always a hot cup of coffee waiting for me when I make the long trip.

I've had my car in a couple of times. Both times they could have ripped me off, as I thought there was something wrong when there wasn't, or thought the problem was worse than it was. I checked my car in once thinking a noise from the brakes meant time for new brake pads, but they were so honest that they told me they were fine, and wouldn't feel right taking my money for no reason. In the process found an exhaust leak and had that fixed (and kept the entire exhaust just to provide proof that they were telling the truth, by showing me the big split up the middle). They also highlighted, and showed me proof of the dodgy things done by a previous mechanic, and I always get to see all the parts that have been replaced. I'm really happy I found this place.
