Raben Footwear Town Hall

I went to Raben Shoes a couple of weeks ago. I was looking for a pair of shoes for work. The shopping assistant was very nice and patient, and the owner was very friendly. Unfortunately I didn't find what I was looking for in my size (3) but the shop is really big and there's a vast selection to choose from. I would visit it again.

Google Maps is full of crap. 611 George St is on the corner of Goulburn and George, opposite World Square. On topic, staff are great and so is their selection and prices.

I visited Raben shoes recently intending to buy two pairs of shoes one work, one for social, as a young girl showed me around, a morbibly obese man stting behind the counter ( i assume to be the boss) was busy chatting loudly on his mobile phone.The landline store phone then rings twice, the fat man then picks up and throws the land line phone across the floor! It narrowly missed me and several other customers, the man then begins verbally abusing (shouting) his staff, all in front of customers,hello? I wonder how he treats his staff when the customers aren't around? I was about to challenge him on his appalling childish behaviour but i could see the girl serving me was shaking with fear.The other staff in this store all looked terrorfied, i can't believe that this bullying pig of a man behind the counter thinks that he can treat people anyway he likes because he is the boss.A grown man bullying around very young people working in his store, how pathetic. All this horrible mans behaviour did was convince me never to visit this shop again and tell everyone i know about my experience.

I bought here one of the most expensive boots they have ($295). I needed something to ride my bike, occasionally also in light rain. The lady who served me claimed that this model was OK for this purpose. As I was not sure (the boots are quite expensive), she reassured me several times that she was confident in selling these boots to ride bikes and that the boots were 100% waterproof. Except they are not. At the first light rain, the boots and my feet were completely wet after few minutes. Far from 100% waterproof. So the lady lied to make a good sell. Now the worst part. I called back the store and asked to talk with the person in charge. After I explained the situation, he (Ron) said that he could do nothing about that (really? what about giving me back my money?). Also he said that those boots are not waterproof and that the only waterproof boots are gumboots. Now, this is obviously wrong, as all the waterproof boots for motorcycles are made with leather. Anyway, why can they be sold in his store like waterproof if they are not? And why are the consequences of a badly-trained staff on me? Worst pre- and post-selling service ever. Don't trust them.
