This place is fantastic - its more like a hotel than an aged care home. The staff are lovely and treat my granny like a queen. She has been in Lake Park for three months now and whilst it was hard moving her there it was the best move for everyone - she now agrees. Granny likes the food the best and has even gained weight since moving in - their chef is great and cooks everything inc cookies from scratch. Thanks Lake Park you have taken a great weight off our our shoulders.

A very dear family friend was admitted to this place, initially for one month. Her daughter, who is a Registered Nurse, pulled her out of there after three weeks. Her mother also "fell" whilst in the shower, with two alleged, experienced staff standing either side of her, whilst she was strapped into something like an antique electric chair. It had leather straps to allegedly hold her in place. Anyone knows that leather becomes very slippery when wet?!? How can THAT happen?? She was on a very strict regime of pain medication, to be administered every four hours. Often, this was denied up to eight hours (as recorded on her chart, which the daughter now holds as proof!) She developed severe bronchitis. It went undiagnosed, even though a raging fever was also recorded. It then developed into full blown pneumonia. Only at that stage, they began antibiotics?!?!? The daughter got her out after three weeks, but sadly, the infection had spread to her blood and she developed sepsis. She was admitted to Box Hill hospital, and her body began to shut down. Her kidneys, liver and heart were failing. She died of septic shock not long after she was admitted. Steer clear of this place AT ALL COSTS. This place cost a loving mother's family so much grief and suffering. DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!!!!!

I would not recommend Regis Lake Park. I have decided to go ahead with this review after the recent news coverage of Regis lake park after a gastro outbreak. We had a family member in Regis for 3.5 years, this review is based on our experience. We became quite friendly with a handful of the on floor workers (Personal Care Attendants) and found that staff are forced/demanded to come in to work even while unwell, with flu symptoms - despite Regis having a policy that no one enter with flu symptoms for the safety of residents (posted on the front door!). Despite the strict regulations for Aged Care workers, there was too much corner cutting, and the way some staff spoke to the residents was really just unacceptable, The staff at the reception desk are rude, and constantly talking down to other staff members, mainly to the carers. They are short and sharp with staff and residents, in front of visitors, which creates a negative atmosphere. Management really need to stomp this out, asap. My mother is no longer in a Regis facility. - "Ann H"

Due to the lack of care and commitment by personal care staff, and lack of adequate staffing at Regis Lake Park my Mother was not here today, to celebrate her 83rd birthday with her family. She died as a result of injuries sustained in a fall at Regis Lake park when she was left unattended. Her 18th fall in 8 months in that facility.
