Absolute Serene Atmosphere and Delightful Service at it's Best. The Fare is very Flexible to suit One's Taste and Budget. The food is Continental fare with one's own Custom Preparation. Vine list is just perfect to accompany the food is served, It's an easy drive from Sydney with plenty of Parking and Abundance of Views.

An over rated place and not worth the drive to. we ordered the signature lobster bisques which was excellent but all other food was just average and over priced. the location itself it definitely over rated.

April 12, 2012. I went for lunch at Rick Steins Resturant in Banisters hotel, Australia (not one of the ones in England), and was recieved kindly by the waiters, it was a resturant placed directly in front of the ocean, with a blue seaside view. I first ordered a sashimi plate with kingfish, tuna, and salmon placed elegantly on top of square ceramic plates. I tried the tuna first, it was a healthy red colour and was filled with tender goodness, the salmon, in contrast, was thin and smooth, with a soft sweetness, the kingfish, was succulent yet dry and very nice with soy sauce. Next came some bread and butter, (have you noticed that all good meals start with fish and bread?) the first butter was soft, and tasted quite like the butter at Rockpool, the second however, was infused with nori, fitting in well with the fact that Rick Stein's was a seafood resturant, and tasted soft but salty. Then I had a salmon carpaccio, it consisted of four slices of raw salmon in a vinegary dressing, the most interesting part was the crisp salmon skin which formed a cracker like rectangle, producing a loud “crunch!” when it the mouth. I next ordered half a plate of fish and chips (me seeing the regular size and saying “my gosh I can't eat that”), the fish was well battered, the texture being remarkably similar to a donut, and the chips being incredibly thick (about 2x2x4 cm) took time both to cook and to chew, downgrading it a little. For dessert I had a collection of the chefs favourite ice creams (Pistachio, Fig, and Chocolate) which were all delicious and sweet, after a moment of thinking I decided on Pistachio being the best with it's nutty yet subtle flavour.

Sensational seagood, expensive but well eorth the cost. Had dinner with a large group with little ones, no issues. Would recomend this as the best seafood on the south coast.

Great setting and the staff were friendly but this did not compensate fof the overpriced, barely hot enough food. A real disappointment.
