Very friendly place with excellent service. They are also the only restaurant that I've been to in Australia that doesn't overcook their steaks.

Once again another exellent meal at Garry Baker's Rockwall. Meals served hot and to our liking. Good wine list to choose from. A bit noisy in some areas but overall very good. Their steaks are always well cooked to the customer's requirement.

In my view this is one of Hobart's best steak restaurants located in the Salamanca area. This restaurant is run by former AFL identity Garry "The Bull" Baker and his partner Sue Catchpole. The food was of a very high quality, was reasonably priced and the waitresses were very attentive. There were a number of people eating at the same time and being a monday night this demonstaretd to me how popular it is with local diners. Very enjoyable evening and would have no hesitation recommending this to others. Happy dining.

I have been to Rockwall twice now, not because I liked it the first time - I hated it. But because I'd heard the owners had changed. Bad idea - I heard wrong. I saw one of the same faces I saw over a year ago, shirt untucked, bad service manner, but simply, not a good first impression. The first time I visited Rockwall with my girlfreind, she left very upset because her meal was not cooked properly, and instead of waiting for the staff to cook it again, she ate it with me so that at least we could eat together. They essentially ruined the meal, and didn't offer anything in return, not even a sorry. The second time round I visited with friends. My Seafood chowder was simply a tasteless bowl of cream with very tiny pieces of something I very much hope is food. The Trevalla, which I had for my main and is my favourite fish - was tiny and covered with a sweet sauce. Completely ruined. I think there was also a hap-hazard attempt to Julienne the carrots, hard to say really - they weren't at all even. My friends fared no better, and I felt embarrassed taking them to Rockwall. If you see a man with a shirt untucked at front of house, turn around and walk straight back out into the street, and have dinner at one of the other restarurants in Salamanca which actually are worth eating at.
