My home away from home! I have had the pleasure of staying at Sandholme on a number of occasions and love it for a relaxing break away from Sydney. Alan and Christine are wonderful hosts who have a passion for the local area. The purpose build guest house has a relaxed atmosphere with some wonderfully personalised aspects such as the gardens, furniture and works of art around the property. I have stayed in the Oriental room on the ground floor and have enjoyed a few games of pool in the lounge area. The breakfasts are delicious with all tastes and dietary requirements catered for. I would highly recommend Sandholme for travellers of all ages.

I loved Sandholme Guesthouse. I stayed in Jenny's room with my daughter for a little getaway. The room was large, light and luxurious. We loved the fluffy bath robes and the spa. My daughter and I are also keen gardeners and found the verandah and beautiful native gardens very relaxing, especially with a nice glass of sav blanc in hand. Alan and Christine are very knowledgeable about the area and the local restaurants. Wild Ginger (modern Asian) was recommended to us and rivalled Sydney's best restaurants. The cooked breakfast was lovely and Alan and Christine were happy to cater to my daughter's fussy requests of soft egg and crispy bacon. We felt like we were welcome guests in Alan and Christine's home. We will be back!

Stayed in Lovers Playground to celebrate my 60th birthday and our 40th wedding anniversary. Room was lovely - comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom with spa for two, lovely toiletries, plush towels and bathrobes. Our friends stayed in the Dolphins Playground. House itself was great - good location in quiet street close to beaches and restaurants. Amenities and ambience were wonderful. We relaxed each afternoon on the verandah with munchies and a wine. Later in the evening we adjourned to the poolroom for some games. We were offered movies shown in our room or in the entertainment area - there is an extensive DVD library. Cooked breakfasts were a treat and Alan's freshly ground espresso coffee was a great way to start each day. Alan and Christine are wonderful hosts - nothing was too much trouble and eager to provide tips on local attractions. Christine does needlepoint and there is an exquisite piece on the wall of the breakfast area depicting an old lady holding a photograph - astonishingly detailed. We would not hesitate to stay at Sandholme Guesthouse again and highly recommend it for cleanliness, location and value for money. Five stars and worth every one. We were happy to spend time just relaxing in the wonderful atmosphere of the guesthouse.

Sandholmes location is ideal, far enough from the town centre to be away from it all yet close enough for an easy walk to the beach, shops & restaurants, (recommend the Stone Grill). Alan & Chris are great hosts, friendly & welcoming. They can offer advice on any aspect of the area that visitors may need from local tourist attractions to dining out. The in house breakfast menu is generous & (of course) cooked fresh to order. The current Sandholme was purpose designed & built with airy spacious guest rooms and a bathroom to each. That takes nothing away from the property having family connections which go back to 1957 when a family holiday cottage was built on the same site. Make sure you take the time to look around the house & gardens. Alan or Chris will gladly guide you through the property & talk about the intriguing pieces of furniture, artifacts & artwork which inhabit the house & its gardens. Each has a story & many are, in some way, part of their family history. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble, including assisting with wildlife rescue when we returned from a walk with a wayward terrapin found washed up on Huskisson Beach. The bottom line – we booked for three nights & stayed for five.
