Smoken Joes Cafe

I hadn't been back to Smoken Joes in a long while until a couple of months back. Apparently, there was a change in management and it seems to be for the worse. For one, the menu is revamped and lost a number of favourites. It's now a very basic menu of parma, pizza and pastas. The "monster" parma is gone too. Anyway, the food itself was quite unsatisfactory - the chicken parma was hardened and the chicken breast wasn't very good either. Essentially, the new menu has kept up the prices and thrown out quality and variety. A favourite big-eat spot has now been taken out of my list.

After ordering an entree and main we were pleased to receive our wedges within 15 minutes. Then as the time past and patrons were seated around us and began to receive their mains we were left hungry and waiting. After an hour from our original order we managed to attract the attention of the wait staff to ask where our meal was. A 5 minute adventure into the kitchen and the promise of another 10 minute wait had us feeling our meals had been forgotten. The chicken was dry and we found ourselves having to stand and walk to the bar for a top-off of water after being ignored by countless wait staff. Management made excuses but ultimately admitted fault and slightly appeased our dissatisfaction.

Slow service, bad food, total waste of time.

Great value for money and service is excellent ... Food was great.

My partner and myself have been to Smoken Joe's in Moonee Pond consistently for about 3 and a half years, about once or twice a month. We have never left feeling hungry or dissapointed. Recently I have noticed the already consistently good standards of service and food have begun to reach new heights. For this reason I believed it appropriate to write a review thanking al the staff at smoken joe's and say "keep up the good work!". If things keep going the way they are I think we'll have to eat there everynight. Well done. 5/5!
