My first time in australia and I wanted (as most tourists) to cuddle a Koala so my friends took me to Symbio. What a fantastic experience! The keepers were fabulous and very friendly and so obviously loved their jobs. The lady looking after the Koalas was so knowledgable and cared so much for her little (and not so little) charges. She brought out Isabelle, a beautiful female who lets us stroke her for quite some time, before she got a bit bored, but obviously loved the attention she was getting. I'd recommend Symbio Wildlife Park to anyone. Good job!

Staff was very unpleasant, came with a 13 yr old and didnt think to bring a student card i had to pay full adult fare for a child.. i found that ridiculous, the girl doing the shows i think her name was Jenny, was actually rude through out it and saw her rudeness being portrayed not only to the visitors but to her staff, one of the groundsman in the koala enclosure. Not worth the money at all! would not go there again, not many animals at all, as they say we can go up close with the koalas, we didnt get a chance at all because we were rushed and wasn't even able to get a photo with the koala and my little cousin who was looking forward to it. there is no description about any of the animals they have, no idea where most of them come from.. anyone that reads this, my advice to you is Don't go there!

Just terrible. Symbio is only an hour from Sydney, and thus not too far from Taronga Zoo. As a result, I'm not sure why anyone would go to this cheap and questionably humane place, particularly as the prices are not all that cheap. The animals seem to be an odd mix - I assume Symbio is a 'drop-off' point for animals from recently closed zoos and parks - and most of them are in cages or enclosures that don't seem reasonable at all. While the endangered red panda is in an open space it could surely escape from, an eagle sits in a small pen where it surely can't exist fairly. Beyond this, there was basically no presence from keepers or staff, most of the enclosures had no signs or plaques to help you identify the species of, say, monkey, and birds in the tiny "open aviary" were at the mercy of terrorising children. As other reviews have said, I can't imagine this would be a very friendly place if you have accessibility issues either. I don't recommend this at all, either as an animal lover or as a tourist. From the advertising on display, I'd assume Symbio's main market is tourists who just want to see a koala up close. Just go to Taronga! Or better yet, support an animal rights charity of your choice.
