The Aalberg Chalet

We have visited the Aalberg when the last snow of the season 2013 was ready to go. By that time the Aalberg was not full of people and the ski mood was probably fading away. With our previous experience of the accommodation in Thredbo, we can say for sure - the chalet is a value for money. The similar accommodation in Thredbo would cost 2-3 times more in peak season. Objectively: the Aalberg is good, as a simple ski lodge can be. Convenient, small, friendly and basic. It was hard to expect a luxury in the middle of Jindabyne for that money, but we had everything what we needed. I fully agree with all previous reviews, it was friendly, helpful, clean, and even yummy in sense of the unexpected Italian taste of their restaurant. It was a feeling of the good family owned bread & breakfast, if you like. We will be happy to book our next August holidays in the Aalberg, and we wish the best to the owners of that lovely chalet. Well done!

Myself and a group of my friends stayed here during the snow season this year, and our experience here was delightful in every way, it totally felt like a five star. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. When one of our hired ski parkas went missing the manager was kind enough to lend me hers for the day :) also on the morning my friends had to leave early (with the car they had hired) they were good enough to organize a free lift for me back into Thredbo, as I don't have a car. The place is clean, warm and has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, I fully recommend it to anyone still considering. Thank you very much for such a lovely stay.

Our family and another family (friends) stayed at the Aalberg for a week. We had 3 rooms between us. The rooms were clean and comfortable, warm and quiet, if a little small. However, we didn't come for the rooms but to ski, and the large shared areas made up for smallish rooms. Meals were satisfying and the staff were only too happy to accommodate specific requests. We were made to feel welcome at all times; all the staff, not just the managers, were really friendly. We've stayed at several places at the snow, and the Aalberg best met the requirements of our family. We will definitely stay again.
