The Airporter

Be careful booking the shuttle from town to the airport. I've used the Airporter on a number of occasions. Initially there was reliable, door to door service. Gradually I started being asked to walk to the end of my street to be picked up. In February the shuttle was running very late and when I rang, I was dismissively told the shuttle was "Still on its way, don't worry." We waited up to another ten minutes and just made it to the airport in time. Last week I booked the shuttle bus with Danny the evening before I was due to fly. He stated the shuttle would come between 10 and 10.15. I waited until after 10.20 with no sign of the shuttle, at which point I rang Danny. He advised me that someone had phoned up straight after my call the previous evening and he had written me down as catching the bus at 8am. I confirmed that the shuttle had indeed gone without me and would not be picking me up as it was already at the airport. When I became angry and upset and told Danny that I had found his service unreliable twice in a row, he said 'Oh well, catch a taxi love' and hung up. I was left with limited time to catch my flight. This is very poor service, so as I said at the beginning, be careful booking the shuttle. There is no record taken of names or phone numbers, and the service have no way of contacting you if something gets mixed up. I now consider it to be a risk to use the Airporter Shuttle when flying out of Launceston airport.
