The Italian - Cannon Hill Tavern (authentic Italian food)

Food was good, not GREAT but good!... quiet atmosphere, staff were really friendly... good spot for a beer and dinner... food was very reasonably priced... Update - went there last night, Carbonara was good.. (nothing worse than a bland carbonara) cousin had grilled Barra and it was OK nothing super special. still a nice quiet place to have a beer.

Inquired about a possible function, manager extremely short and unpleasant from the off. At no stage seemed interested in my business or any business, while his offensive manner quickly convinced me this was not the venue for us, no investigation into details required. No good.

4 Stars!! Great Service!! Fantastic Food!! Although I extremely enjoyed the Cannon Hill Tavern the only one problem that the place has is that it's not sound proof. Right next to the dining area is the loading dock you can hear trucks but can't see them. Spent an hour at the venue and it was hard to chat while trucks were reversing constantly. DSOA ++

Unique and Enjoyable! This is bar far one of the nicest places on this side of town! The staff are friendly, the food is great and well presented! Friday nights are lively and entertaining! A quiet drink, a romantic meal or a fun night out...this is the place to be!

Just got home after a terrible breakfast. I ordered the big brekky - the toast was fine and eggs were poached pretty well, but the bacon looked very strange and was fairly tasteless. You could tell the hash brown were really cheap and without doubt the worst mushrooms I've ever tasted. It's a shame because the staff are nice and is a great looking restaurant - it's just the kitchen is letting them down.
