The Merrywell, Crown Towers/Clarendon Street, Southbank

Excellent service, lovely atmosphere and awesome food!

Terrible went on a Friday night or a friends 18th. Booked three weeks ahead. the atmosphere was great until the stunk us in the corner on two tables that were bar stool height when we had asked for a normal table. the Waitress was rude and snobby seemly unhappy that we weren't 25, she went though all 9 girls asking for ID when clearly everyone was not consuming alcohol she was a real buzz kill for the birthday girl, meals were long delay which can be unavoidable i too work in hospitality however when they arrived they were cool and overcooked. when we complained and asked for a warmer meal the waitress simply replied sorry we are really busy and left the meals. poor form avoid this place at least if you under the age of 25.

Went with friend for the first time. Environment is nice and service is good. The burger is pretty good (although the patty is a little overcooked). Friend had a sandwich, which is okay. Would go there again for the burger and fries

This was the first place I could find a Poutine (French Canadian food: French Fries/Chips, Curd Cheese, and Chicken/Veal based gravy). It wasn't a traditional poutine: having very thick chips, using little mozarella & gravy, and including lettuce among the chips. That said, the food was well prepared and good for what it was. The price was reasonable and the portion relatively generous. The service was curt and rushed. Water was not provided until asked for, and having the glasses refilled was a hassle since we had to flag down the staff. Quite a pretty restaurant.

I have been to a few "American Food" restaurants but they are always cheap and fatty. This place however is set up very nicely. I ate upstairs (there are two different menus) and got the fish tacos to start and the Angus burger, onion rings and chicken parma for mains. The food was all very nice! The mac and cheese is VERY cheesy..ate like 3 mouthfuls before I had to stop.
