Toko Sydney

High expectations were not met. Highlights: grilled japanese mushrooms, spicy tuna roll, great sake selection. Lowlights: sashimi was clean and generous but not melt-in-mouth. Pork belly was underwhelming. Service - unhelpful suggesting alternatives to the beef ribs which were sold out, no small talk, hard to get his attention, and he opened my closed bill to carefully read the tip at the table. Weird. Overall, there were some yummy dishes, but it was a $80 per person meal so expectations are high. 3 stars.

We are currently visiting the top 10 Japanese restaurants in Sydney and Toko was first up on the list! The atmosphere of the restaurant and lounge were both very trendy and cool. Our absolute must have favorite dish I the night was the salmon tar tar. This was delicious and I highly recommend it! The tasting menu was highly recommend by many friends however we just didn't have that large of an appetite he night we went. Toko is an easy walk from central station. The were friendly and the although tables were sharing they are quite spacious! I would definitely recommend a visit if your in the neighborhood!

We had the sora tasting menu which was about $90 a head. frankly, the food was not mind blowing and when compared with masuya where i would probably be paying about $60 and be unable to resist overeating, I'd say I wouldn't be coming back here any time soon. the best way to describe this restaurant is... forgettable

Absolutely Amazing!!! Try the Tsuchi tasting plater to have the whole experience. Great atmosphere, dim lights and quite cosy. A good choice for a date but can also go with friends.

This is true Japanese Western Fusion in a funky, friendly and lively environment. The staff know their "S..T" and relax you into a feeling of being number one. The variety of interesting alcohol is quite a find and you would be hard pressed to not find something to match the food you are lusting after :)
