The owner is a rude, selfish, mean, nasty and strict, and I'm only giving one star because I don't think I have an option to pick no stars, Don't go there its terrible, dirty, small and old, I DO NOT recommend it at all!!!

我见过最差的旅店。 房间很小只容得下床，里面一股霉味，天气闷热电风扇上却是厚厚一层灰，根本无法使用。被子霉味不说，不透气很闷，一动又是漫天的扬尘。 订了三天，硬要付全所有住宿费才能进，进去一看，根本不能住，想退却被告知一旦check in就一分不能退，而且态度很差，说“你可以自己走，但钱我们不退！”简直就是黑店。一夜没睡（闷热而且都是霉味灰尘），第二天的前台态度较好，打了电话给老板，但老板还是不给退。后来我直接和老板理论，才最终同意给我退剩下房费的一半。 另外，厕所浴室男女共用，衣服挂钩却设计在浴室隔间的外面，也就是说必须向内开门才能取到外面的衣服，不知道他们怎么想的。热水也是一会热水，一会彻底冷水。 总之是一次极其糟糕的住宿体验。

Well where to start, this would have to be the worst hostel on the planet, and I say this for the concern of others that will fall pray to this hostel. The owner is bias, prefers that you can stay if you are a girl....."What could he be thinking", very weird type of guy. The place was a mess, showers shudder like they are going to jump out of the wall (in other words their broken), toilets looked as if they were alive, pool burned the eyes of clorine, the service was appauling - offering a great time to with friendly environment, what a joke. The funniest propisition was surfboard hire, they have 'one surfboard' no more and it looks as if it will break just holding it - where do they get off saying that and then ask you for money and deposite, it really is just a crapy house covered in posters to mostly hiding the damages, at first when you are out the front it looks ok, then you get inside is where all the surprises are. What do people think now days that they can just turn old family homes into hostel's, if this place was even fit for a family. These kinds of people just take advantage of the fellow traveller who is looking a peice of mind, not a night of regret that you should have booked elsewhere. I want to voice this for all that wish to come to Surfers Paradise, in all honesty, research before you pay. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THE TREKKERS BACKPACKERS HOSTEL. Really cute place, friendly team and offer free breakfast!

The rooms are clean and decently priced, but do NOT let their "deals" for going out at night and dinner and such fool you. They have a backpackers BIG night out, where they advertise a free drink at 4 clubs, discounted drinks all night, and free pizza throughout the night. The first is true (partly because I watched the drinks being poured with half shots, then paid for one to confirm and got a full shot) but discounted drinks is bull crap as well as free pizza. drinks were anywhere from 7.50 to 10 for a basic whiskey coke or vodka cran. The staff will do anything to get you to come with them to get their extra free drinks, who they share with whomever they like most, usually other staff. the claim also that the night out is 65 in town and to book it here to get it for 30 at the hostel. This is just to get their number up so they get more for drinks. I talked to other backpackers who got the deal for 20 in town. Do not listen to anything the staff tells you of deals...they are all lies and just out for you money. Also, they claim to have a bbq feed with unlimited gin and vodka punch. the bbq is good but the gin and vodka punch? I watched them make their "secret recipe" of horrid wine and juice. No gin. No Vodka. All in all, good place to stay for a few nights because of a decent beds and a good kitchen, but just go out on your own and enjoy the gold coast. Don't fall into their money traps to scheme money out of people on budgets.
