Vietking

Vietking is the only Vietnamese restaurant in Darby Street selling "genuine" Vietnamese food. The Banh Seo pancakes are to kill for. Having lived in Vietnam for 10 years I've found the food at Vietking to genuine Vietnamese cooking and in many cases better, as the Australian produce, meats and ingredients are of better quality than in Vietnam e.g. Pho Bo (Pho Tai Nam) is just great, not to mention being very filling as the main. The staff are courteous, obliging and attentive, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who would like to experience the real taste of Vietnam. The owner Anh Hanh (Robbie) is extremely friendly and sincere and loves to have a chat with customers and only too willing to explain the various types of Vietnamese food on his menu. Having had a meal there on several occasions, I've yet to experience any unpleasantness.

Bad Service. Food was okay, but bad service. Gave us what we did not order and was reluctant to fix mistakes. Took forever to give us our bill until we had to go ask to pay.

Great meals, fresh ingredients, huge menu, authentic food and staff, medium prices, means excellent value. Licensed and BYO.
