Bilia Volvo sold an XC90 to me with the clear understanding it was to be driven to the snow. Unfortunately they didn't advise me that the standard road tyres for the XC90 are unsuitable and I had four serious slides on Mt Buller, before being forced to change tyres and rims over to the cost of $2800. Be warned, the size of the standard rims and tyes means you cannot fit standard snow chains either.
