Yesterday, 31 July, I had some photos printed at your print dept, and bought an album in which to insert them. This was for the 50th birthday of my daughter in Hobart on 3 August. Seeing a brochure for your parcel delivery service, it seemed just the service I needed to send the album to my daughter with its promise of next business day delivery. I rang your store on 31 July, and was told that the album should be at your print dept before 11 am on 1 August. I therefore arrived with the album at 7.45 am, and was told that the assistant with appropriate skills did not arrive until 8 am. When she arrived she told me that she was standing for the assistants capable of operating the delivery service, and they would not be on duty until 12 noon.This meant that I would have to leave the album in the hope that it would be processed in due course and arrive in Hobart on 2 August. Also the assistant was unable to tell me how much I would have to pay, making it necessary for me to make another trip to your store. I come to your store fairly frequently, and your staff have always been helpful and courteous. In this case it seems that the parcel delivery service, excellent in concept, has been hurriedly introduced, and trained staff are not always available to operate it. Once again, be sure that your staff did all they could to help within their limited knowledge. The deficiencies I experienced can only be due to ineffective management.
