Went to the Waterfront a few weeks ago for my sister's 50th birthday & would go back there again. Views were great. The service was not exceptional but still our waiter did go out of his way to do little things that was memorable....he advised us not to use the flash when taking pictures of the night view, took some groups photos for us & organised to have some extra lighting turned on (it was really dark at night). When we had the chocolate birthday cake the chef also added some strawberry sauce to go with it. Hospitality service in Melbourne is generally shocking but this was acceptable. The grilled seafood platter we ordered was fresh & went down well. It was fish, bugs, prawns & crabs.....no scallops or mussels. We asked for no chorizo in the Paella but got some anyway. The salads were good. There are no good seafood restaurants in Melbourne so I'd go back to this one.

I went to a Christening here, so I cannot comment on the price as it was a paid for event, but the place is romantically beautiful and the staff are friendly and quiet helpful. * 14 hour cooked pork belly, seared scallop, soy ginger glaze, apple purée. The sauces complimented the dish very well, the scallop cooked perfectly. The pork belly, skin wasn't crispy at all, instead chewy and plastic and quiet difficult to cut through, also I found there was too much fat for my liking. * Snapper Fillet, parsnip puree, Jerusalem artichoke, hazelnut vinaigrette, enoki mushroom salad. The fish was cooked quiet well, but the skin of the fish had way too much salt we all had to eat around it, mixed with the parsnip puree and mushroom was delightful. * Lamb rack, medium well, sweet potato mash, sautéed baby spinach, red wine jus. The rack was cooked perfectly and everything on the dish worked really well together, especially the potato….but again I would have preferred less fat on my rack of lamb. Although the place is beautifully furnished and creates a great atmosphere, judging by the below comments on price and the food, I personally wouldn't book this venue out for a function.

Food good but in no way exceptional and certainly not good value for money. Chairs uncomfortable and given the slow service a big ask for the 3 hour experience. Paying for the position is not good enough particualry as parking can be a problem, and I am sure better value could be found nearby.
