I was waiting for a friend and decided to stop for a glass of wine. I mentioned that I had had a long day and would like a glass of wine. The sommelier asked me about what wine I liked and gave me three tasting glasses - I went for a lovely New Zealand pinot gris. The staff were friendly and attentive, the sommelier particularly informative and helpful. Next time I would like to try their food options, as they sounded quite yummy too.

Friends of ours have visited the wine bar and told us about their great experience. We are all wine lovers and were looking forward to see what the wine bar was like. We were not disappointed – we were looked after by a great French guy which we found very amusing, having a French waiter sing the praises of Australian wines was very refreshing! The wine was all we expected and more! The wine list is extensive, very extensive. It does cover all budgets, but being the wine folks we are, we loved some of the great vintage wines they had on the list. Excellent red wines, but the award for red wine of the evening must go to the great 1998 Rockford Basket Press shiraz from Barossa, on recommendation from the French guy! It was one of the most spectacular wines I have ever had. Long live the Australian shiraz! The food was just as great – we had a cheese plate and a Kangaroo Slider burgers. The burgers were great and we ended up ordering another plate! Overall one of the best experiences I have had for a long time.

Overrated for what you get. It was all fine but overpriced. More for the tourists. As a local there are better locations nearby. We once bought a bottle from the bottle shop, the recommended bottle was not great for the cost.

Enjoyed a three course dinner at Wine Odyssey at the Rocks, Sydney on Friday night. The food was absolutely fantastic. The warm beetroot and fetta starter was divine! Didn't think they would be able to top that but then then the pumpkin gnocchi did that. I also snatched a few pieces of my partners meat dish that he was jealously guarding and that was simply divine! One of the highlights of the evening was the dessert platter. This is a selection of desserts (we have all 5). The creme brulee flavoured with Tasmanian honey was divine - smooth and silky and certainly the best I've had in Sydney. The highlight of the evening for me was the Australian wines (most of which are bio dynamic and organic). I usually can't drink wine at all as it gives me migraines. However, under the guidance of the knowledgeable staff at WO I was able to have wines with every dish and they were all delicious and happily because they are organic no migraine! I spent the night dreaming of a Rose wine from Mudgee that was absolutely divine and will be heading back to pick up a bottle or two! Fantastic night out. If it isn't cold sitting in the outside area is a great way to enjoy the Sydney summer weather.
