I would advise that NO ONE utilise any of this restaurant's vouchers, coupons or advertised deals for any '9-course' Chinese sit-down meals or of the like. The service was unbelievably rude considering that the staff could barely speak English but ONLY when we conveniently inquired about the menu. As a customer, and as a fellow Asian, it is absolutely unacceptable to be shouted at in rapid Chinese when you are simply asking about details of our meal. It took 45 minutes for, get this, DESSERT, to arrive first - a dish of mango pancakes that, like in any Yum Cha place (like the rest of the menu, to be frank) would have be pre-prepared in large amounts. After paying $2.50 for tea per head outside of the voucher, which was understandable, being given (after dessert) 6 dumplings that were cold and chewy was a disgrace. There is only so long tolerance and patience can be taken - evident in the diagonal and opposite tables that were under the same alleged 'VIP' table deal - that we after an hour and a half of being given smaller than entree sized taster dishes for three people, we left without any appearance of the Peking Duck Pancakes but rather a smug smirk of false and sarcastic apology. I would advise that no one go to this over-priced restaurant that serves 'cold, oily and suspiciously uncooked innards of a spring-roll' Yum Cha unless obnoxious, sarcastic, slow and snappy service is what you're after. Might I also add that they advertised only to make a booking through e-mailing (3 days prior to the desired date) which we thought was ridiculous and didn't understand why until we called up (having no computer at our disposal at the time) and realised that no one could understand what we were saying. A restaurant that doesn't recognise a booking is one whose reputation and service is to be highly questioned. My family and I vow never to return to Zilver - your reputation is built on a lack of understanding that service is what makes the food worth returning for and honestly, waiting 45 minutes for a dessert that we saw pass us in unaccepted and declined trays and carts by other customers about twenty times prior to its untimely delivery to us doesn't make up for it either.

Great for yum cha - nice sized har gao which I always use as an indicator of a good yum cha restaurant! Would not recommend the a la carte though.

One of my favourite Chinese restaurants in Sydney. Best yum cha, although if you go on the weekend, expect a wait of about half an hour; but this is worth it! Delectable range of yum cha food with fast, friendly service. In the heart of Chinatown within close proximity to public transport and shops.

Make sure you get a party of 5+, it's more fun! This is the best yumcha restaurant we found so far in Sydney, just 5mins from Central and 2mins from Haymarket. If you going for lunch on a Sunday, make sure you book your table to avoid the massive queue! Some of the dishes you will find are pork dumplings, spinach and prawn dumplings and those yummy mango pancakes filled with some sort of ricotta/cream and mango. Service and prices are ok

This is one of the better places to eat yum cha if you don't want to completely empty your wallet. Best of all there's plenty to choose from and it gets brought to you! Come here with family or friends. Generally there's a wait to get seated but if you get there early on the weekend around 11am you should be seated pretty quickly. You won't have to worry if there's only chicken feet either, because there's everything from siu mai to prawn dumplings and mango dessert. My advice - go there!
