Boats Restaurant

We decided to take a drive down to manly for a lazy afternoon lunch. We saw Boats and thought it had great ambience and views so we walked in. We had to ask for a table instead of being welcomed - so that should have told us straight away that we'd be in for some bad service. The food looked great on the patrons tables so we persisted. We sat on the deck and waited for menus...10mins later we got up and asked for them... 10 mins later we ordered. 20mins later, no drinks... but the table next to us that had arrived after us were served and joined by the waitress that took our order. Her family no doubt - she was taking a break with them after serving them and forgetting us. 40mins after ordering our food arrived. still no drinks. One meal arrived that was not what we ordered. I had asked waitress for what a lady had at another table - I got a different meal. 5min after meal my bitter over heated flat white arrived. Meals were tasty so the kitchen staff are fine. Our drinks were complimentary. No apologies were given by waitress who returned and sat with her family infront of us again and continued her break. Other mature lady waitress apologised profusley instead. Can we really expect good service and basic manners anymore?
