Campos Coffee, 144 Elgin Street, Carlton

Great coffee, wonderful staff. Perfect way to start the day :)

Coffee is always great. Service is always great. I haven't tried any of their food except the brownie, which is incredible. The decor is too dark, both in terms of the amount of light there is, and the colours used. The good news is that Campos didn't try to create a "douchebag minimalist" look that so many other d-baggy cafes strive for. It deserves some credit, even if I'm not a fan of their seating and layout. EDIT: I change my mind. It gets an upgrade from 4 stars, up to a perfect 5/5. The service is just fantastic. The staff are happy to talk about coffee, and even teach you and give you hints. Heck, they'll even spend the time to tell you how to better taste the flavours of their coffee. When I go in to buy some coffee beans, they'll recommend other coffees to try based on the coffees I've enjoyed so far. They're incredibly passionate about what they do, and it's refreshing to get such excellent service from knowledgeable staff!!

Good coffee but the interior is kind of soulless and unwelcoming and the food options are limited.
