Dumpling King, 572 Station Street, Box Hill

I have been here a number of times and often look for an excuse to visit with friends. Dumplings are great and there is a huge selection. Try any of them and it's often hard to pick.

I took my in laws out for a special treat to Dumpling King, we had never been there before and we had an Entertainment Guide voucher.......We ordered Banquet C for all of us. It was reasonably priced, the food was Excellent, there was so much food the owner offered to get it in T/A containers for us to take it home, Atmosphere was buzzing, wait staff were helpful and attentive. We will be back, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

I ordered the spring onion pancake and pan fried beef dumplings. Pancake was bland and tasted doughy. When the dumplings came out, there were only about 4-5 in a serve, which is terribly overpriced compared to the rest of the street. Dumplings were gluggy, with some sort of bland meat paste inside - supposedly beef and Chinese pickle. Service was acceptable. Value is terrible. They are the dumpling equivalent of Sweeney Todd.

Had Dan Dan noodles, pan dried Beijing dumplings, Shanghai steamed dumplings (those with hot liquid inside) All good. Boss was attentive, service was prompt
