Sexy staff and great mexican is a recipe for success! Get there early during lunch time for a table outside. Dont get carried away with the frozen margarittas though beware!

Well they don't go very Mexican, with flavours like lemongrass beef, but they do pack a huge amount of flavour into the tacos - real marinated-for-a-week flavour typical of Mexico. Great drinking food. Pity the tacos cost $5 each. Rest of the bar's good - always full of people, often have good music.

The Excelsior used to be a dive bar full of poker machines and deadbeats, but since they have expanded out the back, added more outdoor seating and added the Mexican fare, it is attracting a whole different crowd. Much more the 'new' Surry Hills than the 'old' Surry Hills (if you atch my drift) it's a great place for a relaxed catchup with friends or to sit and people-watch... Soft shell tacos were delicious, if only a bit pricey at $5 a pop.
