Saturday night 9th Feb 2013. 10 of us went to the Ivory for drinks and dinner, drinks in a wonderfull location were great and then we decided to have dinner, we all ordered and 2 from our table received their dinner and about 30 minutes later the other 8 meals came out but they were the main meals and surprise surprise our entrees came out and when the staff were questioned why?? it was if all was ok main meals before entree whats the problem???? they have an issue with their staff from the kitchen, wait staff and a young feller behind the bar in the dinning room who abused one of us, apparantly a supervisor was coming to talk with us no one came. they have problems do yourself a favour go for a drink order from the main bar where they are happy to serve you and go and eat somewhere else.

This venue used to be great place with its waterside location but has deteriorated with changes of ownership over past 2 years. It is unclean and am unsure how it continues to pass health regulatory inspections. Customers can sit waterside a couple of meters from the bar but has to be shared with smokers and diners which I think too is illegal. Smokers pollute the waterways by discarding butts on the floor which get caught between floorboards or fall into the river below. Council has been called re this but their licenses continue to be renewed without changes being made. Food is cheap, but never lose anything or leave personals around as they won't be returned. It is a shame this lovely location isn't conducive for a better experience, as you could have a wonderful time as earlier patrons once did.

Ate at the Ivory Tavern a couple of times Thursday night $7 (approx) T Bone night and then Friday night a $10 rump, nice location and nice atmosphere. Food was delicious, not the largest servings, but enough to satisfy ;-)

But..was dissapointed...firstly ...after being in queue to order..with No menu to look at until you get to the counter...(would be better to look at board or menu while in line)...found had to buy a drink before ordering at another counter and pay separately (what a chimozle this would be when there are alot of people queueing) bad organisational skills...no varients to the menu..eg. couldnt order wedges instead of chips...(simple task).. got meal..ordered well done (it was raw basically) gravy all over everything ( come on guys what would iron chef say about that) cold chips and some soaked in the blood of the meat (yuck)...guys on counters Most un helpful (guess it goes with the rest of the scenario)..all in all sorry guys but wouldnt take anyone there again..think i realise now why some people drink ...so they are oblivious to bad food and service...I always compliment where due..but unfortunately your standard has dropped and business will too if you don't pick up your standard...People like a nice meal with nice service...not too much to ask...out of 10 give it -5..such a great location and potential...pls improve the service and food..
