Murray's at Manly

Good beers especially the Grand Cru but that is really it! You'd better buy it online or at the bottle shop...

The chef will not allow you to add salt and pepper to your food. Guess he know how I like to eat my food. Do not come to this place

I have always really enjoyed the beers at Murray's but after fathers day there I say I have to give up on going there anymore. The food is good as is the atmosphere and beer, but the service is sub standard. With only two of us standing at the bar wanting to buy drinks and six people behind the bar serving it took ten minutes, and this was the pattern all day. At ten dollars a half pint you need to back it up with service. Even the manager was more interested in talking with his bar staff then serving patrons. Time to sort out your staff Murray's, it's a shame to ruin such a good venue by poor staffing.

Been here quite a few times now, love the venue and the atmosphere - mostly. Had quite a few different sets of mates go for dinner a number of times, and all mentioned that the service was well below par, with forgotten food, late food etc. Went there for the GF's birthday, we reserved a drinks & nibble tables of between 12-15. When we arrived they told us that they had the booking, but someone had cancelled on that actual day. This wasn't true at all, but based on the stories i'd already heard about service I thought it could be then trying to cover their backs for not actually noting the booking. We found some space eventually and had a pretty good night. Live music is great, apart from the fact that the kiwi bloke can't handle his booze gets a bit abusive and thinks he's Notorious BIG. Bit intimidating for the ladies. Great potential here, but service and light-weight singer let it down.

Service was absolutely shocking! On the menu they pair beers with the food; not at all helpful if, 45 minutes after serving the food and four times of asking later, they finally come out with "we're out of that beer"....are you serious!? No apology either and everyone received their food 10-15 minutes apart from each other, meaning we were constantly getting up from the table to find a waitress and ask where the food and drinks were as people were all eating and finishing at different times....such an unpleasant experience. I don't normally comment on service as I wouldn't let it ruin a dinner but this was so bad I wanted to go into the kitchen and get my own food or climb behind the unattended bar and make the cocktail I ordered a half an hour before! Otherwise; small portions of over-priced-nothing-to-write-home-about food.
